Mar and I set out to IMAX it for Inception.

Good movie, different from the usual, and not so complicated where you have to say “huh” every 5 minutes.  A little down side to the experience was I kinda felt the screen was too big or I was to close.  My mind and my eye balls are sensitive to motion.  Meaning, spinning in a circle at a slow pace, turning upside down, staring out the window in a moving car and looking back from a moving car.  makes.  me.  want.  to.  vomit.  On the other hand, the sound system blew me away (applause).

Being newbies to the this part of CA, we didn’t even know the theater was downtown.  Not the downtown we’re used to.  There’s trees!!!  And streets where you can make lefts!!!  HELLA parking.  Outside public lot, 10 bucks all day.  You can’t beat that!

But it was also the little things that caught my eye as we walked the streets:

  • hardly any fossilized gum embedded in the sidewalks
  • not so many restaurants counted on 1 block
  • pedestrians wait till the walking sign comes on
  • brick buildings
  • snooty
  • clean streets, forreal
  • a building had big blown up photos framed outside the building, first thought to self: No one steals this?
  • terrace eating areas in countless restaurants
  • no parking meters, just pay here machines

Goodies and deltas.

We walked the downtown area for a good hour hoping to run into a good lunch spot, non asian and non snooty lookin.  What did we find?  5 asian and 5 snooty spots.  LOL.  It was a good walk though, like I said I liked the little things.

We ended up at MARRS area, I saw a bunch of rainbow flags around and lounges with flyers to gay related events.  First thought to self:  Castro of Sacramento, I smiled.  We ate at Pete’s.  It was okay.  The kind of okay where I’m not rushing back to eat there again.  So we stopped by AZUL, which was 10 yards away, to get a drink and get some dessert.  Yum and Yum, margarita was on hit.

We called it a day.   Thanks Sac, the day was not burning hot.

*my def of snooty:  not as being snobby, just a lil too fancy for the current mood and situation.
